Day 88: Working for amateurs
In today’s post:
No summer in Sweden. Mario Galaxy 1. Work for amateurs?
It’s been a fairly good day. It started with me going down to the employment office to get some papers about places to look.. for jobs/internship/free labor/so long as i get to do something! It was an ok walk down there. I live quite a distance from the actual town (Bollnäs), so from and to, it’s about an 1 hour if you walk slowly, like i was. The fact that it was raining made it even slower. It was quite nice though! I don’t mind a good summer rain. (Not that it’s much of a summer right now.. +10C).
But yea, they did have some interesting places to look for. Two of which i was very interested in. A computer related one and an assistant doing work of various kinds on an amateur theater club/organisation. Which is something i never understood, if i may go on a tangent. Why is the word “amateur” a negative term for so many? I for one have noticed that amateurs are sometimes even more experienced than the pros. But digress.
Other than that, i spent most of the time talking to family members and playing a bit with my little brother. He really likes his Wii, it seems. Been playing a lot of Mario Galaxy 1. So that’s always great. Galaxy was a good game, even if i have some criticism towards it. Like.. The launch stars and how fragmented the levels felt. Or how you had to use the wiimote, when a gamecube controller would have been better.
Overall, i’ve enjoyed my day. Not very internet heavy as most days, which is a good thing.
My brother and i talked a little about rap earlier when i followed him down to his work place. On the way there, that is. This was one of the songs we talked about. Lots of truth in this song:
The subject came on because i had listened to another rap song earlier, that i thought was very interesting.
I’m a fan of rap and hiphop. I find it so interesting and refreshing. When it’s done right, that is. Not Soulja Boy or something insulting like that.
